The prolific German director Wim Wenders takes on the subject of Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto as he prepares to debut his designs in Paris. The film is as much a meditation by the director on the study of art and the choices he is faced with over which medium to communicate his ideas as it is about the philosophy and work of the fashion designer. Chaired by Gill Nicol and Mike Tooby, this post-screening event takes Notebook on Cities and Clothes as the starting point for an in-depth and lively discussion exploring art and film in the context of Mike Tooby’s installation At The Mad Shepherdess.
