Zhao Renhui

Zhao Renhui’s work is based on the concept of doubt and uncertainty; through The Institute of Critical Zoologists (ICZ), he tests to the limit the principles behind the dissemination of knowledge and acceptance of truths.

Renhui first studied photography at Camberwell College of Arts receiving a BA 1st class in Photography before going on to do his MA at the London College of Communication. Exhibiting at the Singapore International Photography Festival in 2008 he won the Emerging Artist Award and in 2010 he was awarded the Sony World Photography Award for Constructed and Conceptual photography.

Renhui has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions including at The Singapore Art Museum, Jendela (Singapore); The Substation (Singapore); Fukouka Asian Art Museum (Japan); Michel Foley Gallery (New York); Photo Levallois (Paris); Seoul Arts Centre (Korea); Chapter (Cardiff); Pickford House Museum (Derby); PhotoIreland (Ireland); Flash Forward Festival (Toronto, Canada) and Flowers East Gallery (London).
